The SCHOOL OF DEFENSE, SECURITY AND NATO INTEGRATIONS, which started on 18 September 2018, was officially finalized on 25 December 2018.


Main goal of the school was to provide basic knowledge about NATO, including its structure, policies, operations, etc. current issues related to the Alliance, but also to contribute to the information and increase of the young staff in the ARM, relying on educational and informational tools. The participants hade opportunity to attend lectures on NATO, security, defense, to participate in debates, to be part of several study visits, to talk with members of NATO and the Army, and to get familiar with the basic tasks and responsibilities and to learn what the service in the ARM means.

For the purposes of closing of the "SCHOOL OF DEFENSE, SECURITY AND NATO INTEGRATIONS", a final briefing/closing ceremony was organized. The last event was held in the premises of ATA Macedonia in a unofficial manner with small cocktail prepared for the participants. The closing ceremony had a form of informal info briefing and final lecture.


The participants were greeted by the President of ATA Macedonia, Mr. Ismet Ramadani, who also held a brief lecture about the Macedonian path to NATO, the benefits of joining NATO and the political role of ATA Macedonia in paving the way for Euro-Atlantic integrations of Macedonia.

Mr. Ilija Djugumanov, Member of the Presidency of ATA Macedonia and Project Director, briefed the participants about the next activities of ATA Macedonia and future projects, the opportunities for the young people, how can they be involved in YATA activities, and how can they contribute by becoming members of the organization. In addition, Mr Djugumanov, informed the school participants about the 70th anniversary of NATO, which will be marked in 2019 as a celebration of the signing of the Washington Treaty, and the planned activities of ATA Macedonia in the anticipation of the official celebration. He also explicated upon the Euro-Atlantic processes of Macedonia, the next phases and challenges for Macedonia.

The participants filled out evaluation questionnaire in order to assess the school lectures, the school agenda and overall logistics and organization.

Those participants that were more active, present and fulfilled the criteria received a certificates for the participation.
