The historic agreement for friendship and good neighborly relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Bulgaria once again emphasized the role of youth cooperation and the need for mobility and participation between the two countries in order to learn from the experience of the Republic of Bulgaria in the decision-making process as a multi-year member-state of the EU and NATO.

In the light of such co-operation and in order to share experiences and best practices, the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia and the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Skopje have launched a project entitled: "Youth Empowerment for Active Participation in Decision-Making Process" that will contribute in building youth capacities and future leaders and policy makers in support of the democratic values, good governance and the inclusion of the wider society in decision-making processes in the country.

The project, also, aims to raise the public awareness of the benefits of state membership in NATO and the EU, through the success of the Bulgarian example.

The Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia in cooperation with the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje, in the framework of this joint project: "Youth Empowerment for Active Participation in Decision-Making Process", announces a CALL for young people aged 18-30 for participation in a three-day study visit (two nights) in Sofia, Bulgaria, which would take place from 30.09.2019 to 04.10.2019.

During the visit, several study visits to state and non-state institutions will be organized, for e.g.:

- Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense and the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria;
- NGOs in the field of NATO and the EU;
- Youth organizations and youth branches of political parties;
- National Museum in Sofia

The purpose of the visit is practical learning from the experience of the representatives of these institutions and organizations, exchange of ideas and experiences through debates with the youth in this field in the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as cultural and educational dimension.

Application Requirements:

- Age: 18 to 30 years
- Citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia
- Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students or young professionals employed in state and non-state institutions, as well as young people with experience in youth policy making
- Interest and knowledge of issues related to security, international relations and Euro-Atlantic integration

The costs for travel and accommodation will be fully covered.

The Euro - Atlantic Council of Macedonia reserves the right to reject candidates who do not meet the required criteria.
Each participant will receive a certificate for participation.
