| Elenovski elected VP of the ATA |

Lazar Elenovski, the President of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia was elected vice-president of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA) on the 57-th General Assembly of the ATA that is taking place in Tirana, 14th -17th November 2011.![]() Elenovski was elected with the support of all 42 national atlantic associations that are part of the ATA, from North America to Central Asia. The election of Elenovski follows his work in the area of the Atlanticism, international security, NATO and the values of the Alliance in Macedonia, the region and within broader frames through the numerous initiatives led by him and also while he was the Minister of Defence in the period between 2006 and 2008 when Macedonias fulfilled the necessary criteria for NATO membership. ![]() On the regular elections held within the frames of the General Assembly Dr. Karl Lamers, the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and a member of the German Parliament, was elected President. The ATA General Assembly is one of the biggest security forums in the Atlantic world and it gathers global leaders, political and military experts and the civil society.
