Mr. Lazar Elenovski, the President of the Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia and Vice President of the Atlantic Treaty Association – ATA, participated on the international conference dedicated to the Smart Defence concept from 26^th to 28^th of April 2012 in Tirana, Albania.



President Elenovski during his participation on this international conference gave his remarks on the following topic “Importance of the Smart Defense Approach”.

On the conference Smart Defence was recognized as very useful concept. The participants on the conference told their expectations from this concept towards the upcoming NATO Summit in Chicago, USA. Furthermore it is expected that the Smart Defence will be adopted in Chicago. All participants expressed the rational need of mutual efficient spending in times of crisis and the benefit the countries and NATO will have from the joint projects and cooperation.

Other participants of this conference were the Minister of Defence of Albania, Mr. Arben Imami, the President of Albanian Parliament, Mrs. Jozefina Topalli, Dr. Holger Bahle, high representative from NATO Defence Planning and Smart Defence Team and the presidents from the Atlantic Associations from Italy, Greece and Montenegro, Mr. Fabricio Lucioli, Mr. Theodossis Georgiou and Mr. Savo Kentera and other experts on this topic.
