‘’Sustained Emergency Relief- Regionally Developed Capacities’’. The scientific workshop will take place at Hotel ‘’Drim’’ in Struga. The conference will gather more than 40 participants, coming from NATO, Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro and Turkey, which are representatives of public institutions, university professors and independent experts in the field of the crisis management. The scientific workshop is important for the region and will be in light of the different regional capacities in the field of the crisis management that the countries from the Western Balkans have, or are planning to develop. The workshop will be also a good opportunity for the new ones, as well as the future member countries of the Alliance, in order to develop their national views concerning the development of capacities for help in emergency situations, during the process of their NATO integration. Having in mind the limited national resources and the budget challenges, the workshop can also aim as a platform that can enhance a common approach to the countries from the region, that can join their forces and resources, in order to build more efficient capacities for crisis management. The conference opening, which will take place at the Conference room in Hotel ‘’Drim’’ on 29 June 2012, will be attended by the Ministers for Defence of the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Albania, Fatmir Besimi and Arben Imami. The project is supported from the NATO programme ‘’Security through science’’, that supports projects of member and partner countries of NATO, in scientific purposes in service of security.
