NATO Student Simulation: Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence |

Having in mind that student conferences and all events of its type in the country proved to be very successful and interesting for students, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia and the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski" - Skopje, in co-organization with the higher education institutions in the country and the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia organized a student conference on the topic:"NATO and Afghanistan: ISAF Mission and Beyond".
The event was practically a youth summit where the students simulated a meeting of NATO defence ministers and the ministers of defence from A5 countries on the issue of Afghanistan. The event was highly educational because it allows students closer and deeper to learn about the issues of NATO, security and international politics, this time with special attention to the ISAF mission. The NATO Student simulation is a youth project and reflects a scenario of a real-life meeting of the North Atlantic Council in the format of ministers of defence. Participants at the simulation were students from universities in Macedonia who were adequately prepared for the simulation representing countries members of NATO, partner countries, Afghanistan, journalists and international organizations. This student simulation was 3rd of this type in the Republic of Macedonia, and 4th organized by the EACM. Special guests on the simulation and also organizer was D-r Fatmir Besimi, Minister of Defence of Republic of Macedonia. Practically, the Macedonian MoD has recognized the importance of the project and supported directlly YATA Macedonia. The event took place on December 20, 2012 at the Army Hall in Skopje. |
