The second regional seminar ‘Write as you speak and read as it is written’ was organized in Ruma on 13 and 14th April 2013 by the Atlantic Council of Serbia, under auspices of the British Embassy in Belgrade.
The seminar was opened by Mr. Boris Viculin on behalf of the Atlantic Council of Serbia, Mr. Giuseppe Belardetti, Secretary General of the Atlantic Treaty Association and the British Defence Attaché to Serbia, Colonel William English.
During his participation at the seminar Lt Col Hadžijanev also gave a speech within the next panel that was devoted to regional security capacities, topics covered by Col Katarina Štrbac (Sector for Defence Policy, MoD), Dr Elizabeta Ristanović (Military Medical Academy), Navy Captain Nusret Hanjalić (Defence Planning Department, Montenegrin MoD), and aforementioned Lt Col Hadžijanev. Topics included definition of terrorism, extremism, bioterrorism, regional threats, as well as models of cooperation in the region aiming at reducing security risks and threats. It has been emphasised that all countries in the region face, more or less, same identical security challenges (terrorism, organised crime, corruption, emergencies, natural disasters, etc.), and that this cooperation is highly beneficial and important.
