The Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia (EACM) is a non-governmental organization established in 1997 in Skopje, which in its existence covers specific strategic area for the Republic of Macedonia such as the euro-atlantic integrations and promotion of the euro-atlantic idea and values in our society. In order to affirm the political consensus that dominates on this issue and is of state interest for the Republic of Macedonia, EACM unites people from diverse national, political, intellectual and business profile. At the same time EACM has close relations with the state institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, NATO Liaison Office in Skopje, the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, NGOs, foundations, the media as well as the diplomatic representatives in the country.
In a broader sense, EACM through its activities promotes full support of the democracy, human rights, civil society and the rule of law in the Republic of Macedonia.
As a member of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA) the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia is part of the network of the national associations, that comprise ATA and as such has constant cooperation within ATA with its members – the national associations as well as with NATO and EU structures.
Goals
• Promotion of the euro-atlantic idea in the Republic of Macedonia • Exchange of knowledge and experiences for the euro-atlantic goals and values • Cooperation with the euro-atlantic councils and associations abroad • Working on projects for promotion of the democratic values, security, human rights • Raising the public awareness for the issues concerning the complexity of the security and international relations
As till now, the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia is constant in active participation in all the activities of ATA in regional and national initiatives, and active participation at all the conferences, seminars and debates that are part of the activities of the Atlantic Association.
It will continue with its cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and other governmental institutions, diplomatic representatives and other elements relevant for the euro-atlantic integrations of Republic of Macedonia.
