The 27th Danish Atlantic Youth Seminar took place from 2-8 July 2012, traditionally in the Aalborg Airbase.

In 7 days, the participants were able to listen to lectures from famous lecturers, discuss the issues from them and at the end, participate in the 2-day simulation, on the topic: The crisis in the South Caucasus.

The lectures were comprehensive and interactive and each day was dedicated to a different subject. The discussed subjects covered areas that are currently in the spotlight in the international politics and defence, such as: NATO’s response to the emerging threats, The UN and the international security- future challenges, Drone warfare and what it means for the ethics of war, The Arctic as a new sphere of interest, The future of Afghan security, Smart Defence, etc.

At the end of each day, discussion rounds were open between the lecturers and the 25 participants, coming from 17 countries. The last two days were dedicated to the simulation of the crisis in South Caucasus, which was an interactive approach and a test of the diplomatic skills of the participants.

After each day, there had been a wide range of social activities, such as visit to the City of Aalborg, tour around Aalborg Airbase, visit to Skag- the most northern point in Denmark, where the Baltic and Northern Sea meet, etc.

YATA Macedonia was represented by Ana Frangova.
