YATA Macedonia at NORSEC 2013 PDF Print E-mail

The YATA Macedonia’s representatives, Ilija Djugumanov and Jordan Tasev participated at this year conference for Nordic Security - NORSEC 2013, 11 – 14 April 2013 at Oslo, Norway. The conference was intended for the youth of broader Atlantic region, mainly the YATA national chapters.

The conference had aim to shed light on some of the most important issues in the Nordic sphere of security and defence. The questions that were raised were not easily answered, but through lectures and debates the goals were decently achieved.
This event had great diversity of participants from Canada and US to Azerbaijan. The attendance of the YATA delegates was well complemented with the participation of the cadets of the Norwegian Military Academy.

The main topics on the conference were: “Small State Strategy”, “The High North: Security Perspectives from Non – Nordic Stakeholders” and “Areas of Intergovernmental Cooperation – Perspectives on Partnership and Sovereignty”. Speakers on this conference were representatives from the Norwegian Ministry of Defence, Norwegian Military Academy, Swedish National Defence College, London School of Economics and Political Science, Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies, EU mission to Norway.
