The Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia in cooperation/partnership with GLOBSEC Policy Institute based in Slovakia is engaged in research partner project entitled: “Countering disinformation in Central and Eastern Europe: Mapping needs, building capacity, and generating civic activism” which is supported by the US Department of State and which includes 8 countries / partner organizations.

     

The aims of the project are directed at identifying the gaps in skills and tools of civic society organisations (CSOs) that they need to counter the spread of disinformation, and identifying the media consumption habits of young people (15-24), main disinformation narratives and the usage of social medial platforms.

The project, which consists of three phases, is expected to last until November 2018 and encompasses desk research, mapping of the needs of civil society organizations, qualitative analysis of 4 focus groups, a two-day training for organizations led by top US experts, as well as international competition and public campaign.
