Macedonia is 29th member state of NATO! The ministers of foreign affairs of NATO's member states today unanimously extended an invitation for Macedonia to become a member of the Atlantic Alliance. The possible invitation for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro will be reviewed at the following meeting in 2012.
Over dinner, NATO Defence Ministers focused on a range of projects to help the Alliance build security in times of austerity, taking into consideration the initial findings of a task force to promote Smart Defence led by the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation General Stéphane Abrial (SACT).
NATO Defence Ministers meet on 5 and 6 October in Brussels in order to review ongoing operations and discuss ways to move on NATO’s Smart Defence agenda.
During the summer period the Youth of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia was active in several fields. Among the other activities, the youth had a possibility to participate at different regional and international seminars, such as REACT 2011 and DAYS 2011.
On the 26th August 2011 the president of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia, Lazar Elenovski met the newly appointed ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands in the Republic of Macedonia, Marriet Shuurman.
